Hello and welcome!
I’m AnnMarie (she/her), a writer and editor, mainly of children’s books. I grew up on Long Island, spent many years in Brooklyn and New York City, and now live in the little green state of Vermont with my amazing family.
Over the years, I’ve done a lot of things with words, from studying journalism to editing and writing picture books, workbooks, beginning readers, chapter books, nonfiction books, and middle grade novels.
I love researching, writing, and editing non-fiction for kids. Most recently, I’ve written about weird animals, garbage and recycling, librarians, veterinarians, castles, weather, giant pandas, famous Americans, planets, and animal senses.
Other things I like (in no particular order):
- maple creemees
- knitting
- sock monkeys
- reading (of course!)
- watching baseball
- swimming, biking, skiing, and hiking
- word games
- lowercase letters
- listening to my family make music
